City motorists could face delays as roadworks projects are carried out in three Derby suburbs this week. Drivers in Allestree, Chaddesden and Sinfin are set to affected by schemes due to take place over the coming days.
In the city centre, another week-and-a-half of road closures are set to be enforced onGower Street, off Babington Lane.A temporary closure was first put in place on Thursday, November 3, as part of the final stage of a 10-weekDerby City Councilproject, which started on Monday, September 5.
The scheme, taking place as part of the local authoritys mobility programme, is expected to be completed on Wednesday, November 23. A total of 15 new Blue Badge parking spaces are being installed in the street, which sits very close to thePost Office, on Babington Lane.

Some other city roads and also wider county routes are due to undergo roadworks this week, according to the Derby City Council website and roadworks collaboration site work. Two weeks of Cadent Gas works will get under way in Kingsley Street tomorrow, Monday, November 14. A road closure will be enforced at its junction with Sinfin Lane.
Affected motorists will be diverted via Kingsley Street, Carlyle Street, Shakespeare Street, and Sinfin Lane. The work is expected to be completed by Sunday, November 27, according to the city councils website.
UK Power Distribution will be carrying out two days of electric works from Cornwall Roads junction with Nottingham Road to its junction with Francis Street. A temporary road closure will be in place on Wednesday, November 16 and Thursday, November 17.
A diversion route will be in place for affected drivers via Cornwall Road, Francis Street, Beaufort Street, and Nottingham Road, and the same in the opposite direction.
Severn Trent will be carrying outelectrical works on Cornhill, from its junction with Robin Croft Road to its junction with West Bank Road. A temporary road closure will be in place on Thursday, November 17 only.
A diversion route will be in place for affected motorists via Cornwall Road, Francis Street, Beaufort Street, and Nottingham Road, and the same in the opposite direction.
Traffic lights will be in operation on the A6 near a Derbyshire town until the new year. The two-way signals were put in place on a 200-metre stretch of Fairfield Road north of Buxton in late September, to allow work to build a new roundabout to continue.
In order to keep delays in the High Peak town to a minimum, Derbyshire County Council has confirmed priority will be given to traffic travelling north. A member of staff will be present from 7am to 7pm each day to monitor the traffic and adjust the lights accordingly to minimise the queues.
The contractors building the new traffic island need to work on the carriageway and High Peak Borough Council has agreed they can work under traffic lights until the end of the year. The local authority has apologised in advance for any delays motorists face.
